Doctoral Program Objectives
Based on the vision and mission at the University, Faculty, and Study Program levels, and also referring to Permendikbud No. 53 of 2023, which emphasizes the strategic role in educating the nation and advancing science and technology for sustainable national progress, the educational objectives of the Doctoral Program in Social Welfare Science are formulated as follows:
Mission 1: to Develop a Research-Based Curriculum that Meets National and Global Standards
To achieve Mission 1, the following objectives are formulated:
- To conduct a review of the doctoral curriculum at national and global levels.
- To organize a high-quality research-based teaching process that meets national and global standards.
Mission 2: To provide critical academic solutions for the development of the nation and humanity at local, regional, and global levels.
To achieve Mission 2, the following objectives are formulated:
- To enhance students’ ability to develop innovative theories/scientific ideas/social problem-solving models (novelty), thereby providing academic solutions at local, regional, and global levels.
- To produce excellent and novel research works (novelty) that meet international standards, using interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, or transdisciplinary approaches.
Graduate Profile
Capable of developing new knowledge or theories (novelty) and innovative models for addressing social problems unique to Indonesia, in accordance with local potential and cultural elements, based on applied research using interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, or transdisciplinary approaches.
Graduate Learning Outcomes
- Able to analyze the philosophy of social welfare science and social theory.
- Able to provide innovative theoretical considerations in solving social welfare problems at the meso, macro, and/or micro levels using interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, or transdisciplinary approaches.
- Able to abstract research findings into new knowledge or theories that support innovative and uniquely Indonesian models for addressing social welfare problems.
- Capable of developing research to produce innovative and tested models, methods, and/or techniques to address social welfare problems unique to Indonesia.
- Able to produce independent scientific works in the form of innovative works accepted for publication in indexed and reputable international scientific journals.
