Strategic Partnerships

As an academic institution committed to the development of knowledge, professionalism, and social transformation, the Department of Social Welfare Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia, establishes various forms of strategic partnerships with key actors at both national and international levels. These partnerships are built as part of a strategy to expand networks, enhance curriculum relevance, and address evolving social challenges collaboratively and sustainably. Within the framework of the Three Pillars of Higher Education, in the field of research, partnerships focus on applied social studies that support public policy formulation and the development of social intervention models. Meanwhile, in community service, collaborations are carried out in the form of community empowerment programs, social assistance, and responses to disaster issues and social vulnerability.

Government Institutions

Partnerships with government institutions have long been an important part of the Department’s strategic role. Collaborations are established with ministries such as:

  • Ministry of Social Affairs
  • Ministry of Villages
  • Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration
  • Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection

Forms of collaboration include social policy formulation, training for state apparatus, involvement in national-scale social intervention programs, and research-data-based community assistance. These relationships strengthen the Department’s academic role as a government partner in sustainable and inclusive social development.

Private Sector

In the private sector, the Department of Social Welfare Science establishes partnerships with various companies committed to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). These partnerships include evaluative research on CSR programs, community development strategy formulation, training for CSR units, and the provision of social experts to assist in the implementation of corporate sustainability programs. This collaboration provides a tangible space for synergy between the business world and social sciences in fostering broad-impact social development.

Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)

Additionally, the Department also builds active partnerships with various non-governmental organizations (NGOs), both local, national, and international in scale. Collaborations are carried out with organizations working in humanitarian aid, environment, human rights, empowerment of vulnerable groups, and disaster risk reduction. Through these collaborations, students and lecturers gain access to direct field practice, while also strengthening the Department’s position as a progressive academic partner in contemporary social issues.

With a collaborative spirit, the Department of Social Welfare Science, FISIP UI, continues to expand its network of meaningful and sustainable strategic partnerships. All forms of these collaborations not only enrich academic processes and professional practices but also reaffirm the Department’s commitment to making a tangible contribution to strengthening social welfare, human development, and social transformation in Indonesia and the global region.
