Students of the Bachelor’s Program in Social Welfare Science, FISIP UI, have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills through various program options outside their study program, which can be converted into credits (SKS), or referred to as the ‘Independent Learning Program,’ as an optional program, considering several factors:

  • A minimum of 118 credits must be accumulated by semester 6.
  • Have completed all compulsory University, Disciplinary Cluster, Faculty, and Study Program courses.
  • Credit conversion of up to 20 credits.

Several Independent Learning Program options recognized by the Study Program:

1. Internship

Students can participate in internship programs at governmental and non-governmental institutions, including private companies. Over the past three years, some of the internship destinations for students include: Bappenas, Ministry of Social Affairs, Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Bakrie Center Foundation, PT. Pertamina, The Prakarsa, Danone Indonesia, and others.

2. Research and Community Service

In addition to internships, students of the Bachelor’s Program in Social Welfare Science are also facilitated to participate in the Independent Learning program through involvement in research and community service activities.

Over the past three years, students have participated in various national programs such as Desa Cemara Bappenas, Patriot Expedition of the Ministry of Transmigration, Social Forestry Program of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, and UI E-Sociology of Digital Governance and Economy.

These programs serve as a platform for students to apply social welfare science in real-world contexts while also expanding their professional network.

3. International Mobility

International mobility programs recognized by the Study Program include one-semester studies abroad, student exchanges, as well as other programs organized at the University or Faculty level with partner international students, such as the Joint-Minor Leiden-Delft-Erasmus (LDE) Program.

Some international university destinations for study abroad programs and student exchanges undertaken by students of the Bachelor’s Program in Social Welfare Science over the past three years include: Michigan State University, USA; University of Zagreb, Croatia; University of Malaya, Malaysia; Durham University, UK; University of Warwick, UK; Universidad Autonoma De Madrid, Spain; University of Adelaide, Australia; Vytautas Magnus University, Lithuania; Nagoya University, Japan; Kyunghee University, South Korea.

Admissions

Admissions for the new academic year are open for Undergraduate (Bachelor’s), Master’s, and Doctoral programs.

Selection

An integrated entrance examination organized by Universitas Indonesia for prospective students who wish to study at UI.
